Hi All,
A few weeks ago my daughter tried to open the rear passenger window on the drivers side but it was still frozen up - so it wouldn't move and displayed the 'Anti Pinch' symbol on the dash.
Once the window thawed out it opened and closed fine.
Tried to open it today and the window wouldn't go down. Nothing - just dead.
When I clicked the button to the 'up' position the anti pinch warning came up again but the window never moved.
Does anyone know if there is a reset that will sort it or is the electric window regulator knackered?
Thanks,
Matt

Re: Rear Window Anti Pinch/fault
Does it move from either front or rear switch? I know it might seem obvious, but have you got the child window lock set 'On' in the front? That will lock out the rear switch.
Front fuse 60 covers the rear window lifts.
Try this too....
Try the following sequence (copied from the E65 subforum, user TechFreak):
1) Start the Car.
2) Roll down the window all the way to the bottom on the "defective" window using that windows own button not the driver's one (if the window wants to stop every xx inches, keep making it go down all the way)
3) Release the window switch
4) Push and hold down the switch for EXACTLY 17 seconds (17 SECONDS IS CRITICAL)
5) After 17 seconds immediatly pull and HOLD up the switch to roll the window up.
6) While still holding up the button, the window should travel all the way up to the top, then travel all the way down again , and finally all the way up once more.
I've seen other options including taking the battery off for a few mins, pulling fuses, and needing a fault code reset, and finally a new lift mechanism...

Re: Rear Window Anti Pinch/fault
Hi there, it doesn't work from either switch and yes, I've checked that the child window lock switch is off.
Unfortunately the window won't move up or down so I can' try your suggestion.
I might try the fuse pull in the morning to see if it resets anything.
Thanks

Re: Rear Window Anti Pinch/fault
The X went in for a service this morning so I got them to look at the rear window.
They removed the fuse you mentioned and cleared the fault message on the computer.
Window works fine now!
Thanks.

Re: Rear Window Anti Pinch/fault
Interesting. A simple glitch needs a fuse pulling AND a system error reset in order to resolve it. Sounds a good way to print money. Nice one BMW! Nothing like a 'simple' system in these cars it seems. >:(
