Taking it back to the garage tomorrow and they are taking it to bmw specialist so will see tomorrow.

Hope it's to do with the wheel bearing being replaced and damage to the sensor and I haven't just payed 15k for a problem riddled x5

garage phoned and said problem is a communication issues between some module or something ??

any one heard of this before or anything similar ?

the car has full bmw history at the same dealer in Salisbury would a call to them be worth fining out anything see if the last owner got shot of the car for this issue ?

Communication is always an issue..

Most of the modules in the car will talk to a lot more to get certain info for their function..

You can always ask, but you may not get.
I believe you can request service history from dealers and they can tell you the pertinent points in the cars history, as long as the dealer network did it!!
If things were meant to be easy, then I will soon complicate them....
Please note...
Anything I say is only from my personal experience and knowledge..
I don't assume to know everything, and know there is a lot I don't know..
But then I could be talking bollox.. O:-)

Had a x3 in a garage one day for transfer repair, did a job, did calibration etc but no communication with dsc, dde etc. Turn out to be bad abs sensor...

The same lights on my E53 last month meant a new transfer case motor.  I know yours is an E70 but worth considering.
