Bit of a strange one..

Post by Tommy » Sun Apr 05, 2015 8:50 pm

Driving along today, car decides to throw a wobbly. Every warning system comes up from ABS to Trans Fail. Car still driving fine. All gauges dead, and the key wouldn't lock or unlock the car. Tried the switch off and re start, and it would only start by multiple presses of the button, headlights remained on with key removed too

Got it back home with every warning bong you can think of clambered through to the boot and disconnected the battery, and it now seems ok.

Checked the under bonnet ECU box, all dry in there.

2011 4.0d. Sound familiar to anyone  :)

Think you might need a priest - have you seen the Exorcist?  Or maybe a new battery?

Struck by lightning?  Not sure there were any storms about today, but a heavy static charge will cause that sort of thing!

Scary whatever it was.

No repeat of this, suspect it was something to do with being in the proximity of Stanstead airport, ET was probably trying to use my telemetry to get home or summat.

On Thurs night this week, found my n/s rear window down. Still locked, alarm still set, all othere windows still up. After being parked up the next day, all ok, although temp displays showing 20 degrees and they were at 16 when I locked it. Battery has been recently checked at stealer and all ok! Nowhere near an airport!

Temp might be on your key memory and it may have reverted?  The window one is definitely a concern though.
