Any ideas as to metallic clicking noise

Post by td_100 » Tue Jul 11, 2017 11:19 am

Hi I have a 3.0d 2008 106k and have noticed a clicking noise at about 1500rpm with light acceleration then it goes above this rpm. mainly in high gears 5th & 6th

Also have a wobble under braking I put new Pagid discs and pads on all round. wheel wobble isn't consistent which leads me to think its something else.

Any help would be appreciated

I had the wheel wobble and it turned out to be the ball joint on the bottom arm.
Didn't show on the one man tester on the ramp but jacked up wheel of the ground and it felt very loose.
New arm fitted and wobble gone.(i did all the front arm's and ball joints everything as the car was new to me so all good for some time now).

I had what i thought was a warped set of front discs, but it turned out to be the lower control arm ball joints that were worn, had the arms replaced and brake judder disappeared....
