Boot flap won't always open

Post by weaselchops » Tue Aug 29, 2017 6:30 pm

Hi,
Been trying to search for an answer, but not sure what the lower boot door is called?
Edit: I guess tailgate it what we call it in UK. But searching for that... Well usa only! :)
Anyway the handle sometimes doesn't work and requires a few goes!

Any ideas?

The microswitches were a known weak spot on the E53 so it could be that?  I know a few on here have cleaned or replaced the handle switches.

I don't think the lower section was ever electric was it even with the power tailgates?

I know someone else was struggling with this due to the bumper catching, could it be that?
