P3263 code - car sometimes has no power in gear

So i noticed the X5 was bit sluggish recently, and then the other day, pulling off a roundabout, the car had no power - like it was in the wrong gear.
It eventually chose a gear and shot off.

It then threw up the "Emissions Warning" light.
I drove it 60 odd miles in manual and drove fine to my folks who had an OBD2 reader and gave me the code P3263.
I stripped down the air filter and spayed cleaner into the MAF, cleared the code and drove it home again.
Drove better, but not perfect, and threw up the warning light again.

As i gather, P3263 is a bit of a generic code - so a trip to my indy?

Could be an exhaust sensor fault, MAF, Thermostat, filters blocked., sticky swirl flaps (yes you do have them on the E70 - diesels) or gunked EGR.  Needs a specific check with the right test software.  It's apparently similar to a 3ff0 code which refers to airflow.

Cheers... That sounds expensive.

I'm going to take the maf off and clean it thoroughly first, then get the swirl flaps done at PMW.
Hopefully they can read and fix it at the same time if it's not one of them.

UPDATE:
So over the past week or so, it started behaving much better, and only lost power at about 1800-2100 rpm, and only did this about 30-40% of the time, making me think something was sticking rather than something had failed.

Dropped it in to PMW Chelmsford about an hour ago to get them to have a look, and if in the same ballpark, get the swirl flaps removed and blanked.

Literally 3 minutes later, my phone rang, saying it was the EGR actuator, and it was on the way out, making the EGR valve stick. Such a common problem, it was the first thing they checked, and they carry stock on the shelf.
So as it would have to have the manifold off anyway, might as well get the Swirl Flaps done at the same time, and jobs a good 'un.

Hi, Sorry for the late contact. EGR actuator, is that the pressure converter which controls the vacuum to the EGR?

Mine is giving crap too, exact same syptoms as yours. I already has the MAF replaced though and EGR cleaned.
