Just been messing around with the X5,
And noticed that my spare / 2nd key doesn't work very well.
I have only ever used one key since buying my car,[18 months ago], and the 2nd / spare key has sat in a drawer.
Do these keys have rechargeable batteries or am I looking at a new battery in the spare key.
If its a rechargeable battery, any idea how long the key has to be in the ignition to fully recharge it.?

Re: Key battery.?
If you don't have Comfort Access then it's rechargeable. It will take a while though so best to use that key for a week, or a couple of long journeys at least.
Comfort Access keys have a replaceable battery.

Re: Key battery.?
Ah.
My car has the comfort access, so it looks like a replacement battery is needed. Any idea how easy the key is to open up.?
Don't realy want to mess up the spare key.
