Rear seat belt cover - is there a part missing?? Help!

Hello all

I have just taken delivery of my very first X5. It's an E70 model, late 2012.

I love it  :)

I've bought it Approved Used. After getting it home I realised that - unusually because the rest of the car seems so refined - you can see the mechanism into which the rear middle seat belt fastens - to the extent that if I was sitting there I'd have to be careful not to get grease on my clothes.

I emailed the dealership to see if there was some sort of cover missing, attaching a photo - the same one as I've attached below. They've checked with their 'head of parts' and say there isn't one, that's how it should be.

I thought I'd check with you fine folk on here. Any help / confirmation either way would be very much appreciated...

Thanks!Image

Aha! I knew it.....I thought it just looked odd without anything!

Right, armed with that I won't be so easily fobbed off this time.....

Thanks so much, I really appreciate it.

To help, use Realoem for looking things up.  It's a copy of the BMW Parts Database, normally just one issue behind but often ahead of the one Dealers are actually using.  Put the last 7 characters of your VIN into 'Serial No' and it will pull up your model.  I would think the interior trim section will cover what you need.

And the 'Head of Parts' seems to be missing some!
