Hi guys, changed both stats on our 3.0d a couple of years back when we first got it and recently noticed that the temps on the motorway had dropped back to about 75.
As I am not running an EGR I blanked off the EGR stat yesterday and the temps are now up to 85.

As the stat opens at 88 I thought these engines usually run around 90-95??.

Any of you guys checked your engine temp with good stats??

I will answer the question for you, put in another genuine BMW stat today and temps on the motorway are back up to 90-92.

So it you want to keep your temps right up you may have to change your main stat every 3 years.
