Returning to the Fold

Hi All,
After a few years away from BMWs (2) and even more away from the X series (5), the time has come to return. I would happily go to the X5, but SHMBO has stated that the X6 ' does it for her'. So in the interest of harmony and a few brownie points, the X6 is looking most likely.
No-doubt I'll be asking some bone questions and is the norm here expect to be abused! ::)
In my excitement to get posting on the forum I asked a question about winter wheels yesterday, well, having now taken a little time to go through the site I have had my questions answered, so have removed the first bone question but still looking forward to being mocked over that.

Welcome back and yes, the usual abuse level is still present and as a non newbie, there is no reason to get a soft start

)
With the X6 - you will have X5Sport frothing all over you soon then

Yeah, I was worried about X5Sport coming over all Jimmy Savile, so I'm looking at an older 3.0 model, to hopefully look a little less appealing!!! ::) ::) ::)

Whatever you do, don't replace the exhausts with square boxes as he will certainly be all over your backside like a rash then

Nothing wrong with a 3.0 litre!!
They're all that size anyway.......well apart from the 50i (which is a 4.4 really....what is BMW doing with its naming conventions.. ??? ).
Ignore pvr, round exhausts are fine (square might just possibly look better) too........and there'll be no 'Jimmy Saville' tactics either.....whatever those might be.
My other half wanted the X6 because the E70 looked too much like a small Transit. It seems wives may know best after all.......oh god it hurts to type that!! Must have a lie down..... :doctor:

Git!! >:D >:D
Mind you, have you seen some of them? I kid you not, I can see why some (not me, I'm happily married) may be fooled and get a 'surprise' at an in opportune moment!!

:-[
Anyway back on topic........watch the tax costs on pre-2010 models as they're in the higher bands - same with the E70.

Looking at an early 2010 model with the higher co2 of 217. Not much on the market over here and not prepared to stretch the budget to a 2011 model.

If you had met her, you would know why.
From here eye level, she can only see the wheels so all cars look the same then >:D

Oh, I wondered why the running board / access step was so important on X5Sport's car. She must get a bit weary of all those close ups of the wheelbarrow handles. >:D

Still 10 years today.......will be out tonight to celebrate. Weather's
crap raining at the moment so no sitting by the Pool.

:sun:
Then back to storm shooting......the 'other' reason I'm in Thailand. Need darkness though, now just over an hour away. Dinner first though..

Update,
Now looking to stretch the budget and go for a 2011 model. Just like the idea of having lower mileage, usable service package and warranty, as well as the lower co2. I tend to go for grey, black cars, but think I will look at something else this time, but probably not white.
