Cheers

Bought a Beamer again
only 'another £100k' Thanks everyone.. yeah keeping them clean.. and keeping 20" wheels from potholes.. its unbelievable though - this car feels like it floats on top of potholes.. (also sways like a ship), whereas the previous 640i transferred every pothole all the way to my bones.. (also ...

‘Adding Value’ at service!
I’ve had the same Merc dealer giving me a scare about a fault in a similar ‘inspection’ which I decided to ignore, and the same dealer to NOT issue such warnings in later years. And the is still fine

The gloss black looks nice you’re sticking to the red colour theme i see . Personally I’d have gone for a beige or white interior (my 640i had ivory white and loved it). Car looks amazing

Wow 👍, love it! Would like to talk to you about the experiment sometime. How long have u had it? Not a fan of the BMW single panel display btw, although this is unfortunately where the world is going.. find it being priority for tech beyond driver ergonomics. Btw I’m on hols and had a horrible expe ...

Well the front fogs aren’t about being seen though, the headlights do that well. Not that I’d have done the ‘black hole’ treatment. It is indeed a marmite case I guess

Police vehicle engine failures - N57 series
Well you’d have been ruining the starter motors as those weren’t designed for frequent start/stops. Not to mention strain on battery. 😛 btw I only idled on start because of the battery warning. Whilst on the move I hate start/stop to the extent I start BMWs with two fingers, first finger pushes the s ...

Police vehicle engine failures - N57 series
I had an experience with my 6 series convertible, 640i, although I believe I had an N55. Car had a battery warning at start, so when mrs wanted to stop at some corner shops I sat in the car with engine running. And Mrs took her own time of course. After idling for a while longer than expected, where ...

Off-brand again 😁
Going off brand again Sold the amazingly beautiful 640i convertible and bought an MX-5. Extreme opposites, over 2 tonnes vs just over 1 tonne kerb weight. Long and wide vs short and not too wide for the road. Every imaginable electronic aid vs even the hood being manually operated😆 Light weight, so c ...

Also, I think the later cars’ similar software runs in the cloud or a server at BMW and u have to connect/login online. So it’s no longer downloadable.
