Sadly departing
Hi Folks ,just a quick one to say that the X5 is now sold ,reluctantly .Thanks for all the tips and help over the last two years on the Forum ,both the original one and this one has been great .Moved on and bought a ford ,more mpg but probably less fun ! Thanks again folks

Auto bootlid
I can relase the tailgate of the X5 from inside the car and the key fob also .The boot does not open though it only unlocks ,is this what is supposed to happen ,or does the boot lid open fully.Just a query ,as my car is now 7 years old and thought the gas struts were maybe to tired to open the boot ...

Hi, I see this was posted a few days ago .To buy the tool is £200 quid .I had the same problem with mine a month ago ,was going to do the job myyself also ,as i am an ex mechanic to trade .But local indy did both rear balljoints for £195 including genuine BMW parts.So it saved me the hassle,and you ...

Thanks for the replys guy, This is brilliant feed back , looks like it is one of the ball joints in the rear .So will be replacing it or both of them myself. I have the part numer for the ball joints ,but cant find the tool for pressing them in . Does anyone have a part No for this or a link maybe ...

Hi folks , the X5 has been going great ,but lately has devoloped and awful creeking noise from the rear . I have been under and cant find anything obvious , all bushes look ok ,and it passed its mot ,last month without a hitch any pointers guys , could it be rear bushing or the small ball joints ...

Hi , I am looking for a good workshop manual for doing my own maintance to the x5 I have a wirring soung comming from the front drivers side wheel ,which i suspect is either a wheel bearing on its way out or possibly a C.V. joint . Hi , I have a webasto heater fitted to the X5 ,i do not have a remote with it .When the car is swiched of the heater seems to cut in ,i can hear the pump running and there is the exhaust fumes .
