Re: White van drivers!

[quote="UrbanFlow"] Devon, same thing happened to me back in June. Exactly same damage too - piece broke off the metal cup thing. Tried a repair but it didn't last two minutes. Luckily my mirror isn't flapping about - but I like being able to use the folding function so I am going to fix i...

No breakers round your way?  Used internals are easier to hide/stomach.

Yep will give that a go. Ebay seems to only have the whole assembly for £250 upwards!  :(

Re: White van drivers!

Sounds like a plan! Only problem I can see is that the internal part is almost an interference fit but the outside might be ok to do. Failing that I might try and get it welded up or make up a new bracket out of some alloy strip. Im still not sure if BMW do this part on its own?  A quick call tomorr...

Re: White van drivers!

Hi guys. Thanks for replies Its the base of the metal cylinder that has broken into 5 bits (2of which are lost). A good idea, the tie wrap, but wont work in this instance. Im leaving the glue to set overnight but judging the strength of that gold spring on top of the motor I think it will just break...

White van drivers!

Hi guys Today a white van drove into my parked car and ripped off the wing mirror!  He got away with it as he was to quick for me to get his reg! So I am left with a busted side mirror now. Got it all apart and the only broken part is the metal cylinder that goes over the top of the electric motor. ...

Re: Webasto heater test software

Probably using diffrent test equipment here. The bmw scanner 1.4 is not what im on about. I have the actual webasto plug in comms kit which enables me to set co2 settings, turn fuel pump on and prime fuel line etc etc. the bm scanner wont do that. This kit is what the webasto engineers use. Im inter...
