I've never heard of an M40D and din't know they made one. I have heard of the 40d MSport though - is it similar?

HUD is one of those things that you don't need, but once you have it you will want it again. I'm on my third X5 and first with HUD. I'd definitely spec it next time.

They may be the future, but until we solve the infrastructure problems I can’t have one. I dont have a driveway and its like winning the lottery if I actually get parked outside my house, so charging is the issue for me.

Another thing to mention about the styling is that if you like and want the running boards you can't have them on an Msport, and the roof rails are different on both. I like the look of the running boards but lots of people say that all they do is get your trousers dirty as the height of the vehicle...

Yes, I always fold in my mirrors when locking, which means i need to press and hold for a bit. Presumably when i see them fold in that means the car is locked - as if a jammer was being used then it would jam the folding too?
