Re: So, would you buy a used electric car?

I think most full electric cars have batteries that are on a lease plan and you pay a fixed price per month. So when they do go they will be replaced by the lease holder for the battery and not out of the car owners pocket. Unlike the hybrid car where the owner is responsible for the cost of the bat...

Re: 114d loaner - disappointing fuel economy

The 1 Series is Golf size & weight so the tiny Polo will give much better mpg even when the 114 loosens up.

Re: Dash Cams

The wife has a Blackvue DRG-380hd and I have a Finevue CR-500HD and would 100% recommend both of them. Also worth hard-wiring them so parking mode can be used. This has saved the wife already when a transit reversed out of a parking space hitting her car and causing £4000+ worth of damage and then d...

Try a dealer, sometimes they throw a surprise with their prices. Always worth a try.

Re: BMW delete Run Flats Please !

Turned down the insurance when I got my X6 as I had not had a puncture for years. Sods law I had one a week later but £25 for a repair was all I spent on tyre repairs since then. I like the RFT on the X6, they were hell on the 335i and were changed straight away to standard tyres. I would not want t...

Re: Which tyres ?

They told me that they would not cover me for a puncture if I took the RFT off. Still took them off my 335i and the ride was so much better than with the stiffer side walls. I just carried a can of tyre gunk and compressor just in case.

Nope, only "M" cars have "M" badges, it is like putting a "Turbo" sticker on a Mk1 Fiesta 1ltr L. :))

Didn't have a sync button on my old 335i (2009) or the X6 (2011). It is second nature to twiddle both buttons. now

Re: Booked my 40d in

It should be a case of they hand you the keys, a sheet of paper with the inspection results and you walk out with nothing to pay. Service packs are great things to have.

Stebel Nautilus compact, around £25 each. I had one on my Motorbike and then got one for the cars I have had.

Re: Tyres - what's illegal when edges are worn

When I got mine it had one in that state but the rest of the tyre was 6mm or close. The dealer would not replace it for that as it was legal, but I have heard of some dealers changing tyres for abnormal wear. Think it depends on the dealer and the amount of wear.

Re: Tyres - what's illegal when edges are worn

Check the pressures, mine were wearing like that on the front, upped the pressure by 5psi and it stopped the wear dead.

The rears are another matter if you are on 20" wheels the negative camber likes eating the tyres.

Re: Nasty handling with mix and RFTs

Should have replaced all 4 at the same time, in UK it would invalidate the insurance as it as said is dangerous. Chances are if pulled by the police the car would not be going anywhere apart from on the back of a recovery truck.

Re: How do we solve the enigma of the England football team??

It is only a game. Overpaid school drop-outs who have a constant extortionate high wage even when they loose (most the time). They are not even good role models.  :))
