Re: Clunking noise and run out of fuel

Is the exhaust  lose / banging on part of the car/suspension ?
To be fair though, worn UJ's does seem more likely.

Just thinking aloud.

Re: New owner with cpl issues

Hi, Tail light was a common failure / warranty issue back in the day . They corrode internally. Remove the lights which is easy , take the bulbs out and clean up the metal conduit  everywhere in the  conductor run, not just the bulb holders. Also do the other end where the block connector goes. Wet/...

Re: Grinding and bumping at low speeds

Hi, Dont' laugh at me but there are many heat shields under there. Could be one is worked lose or as you have recently had work done its not been put back properly and is rubbing on a shaft, prop etc etc. It could be that simples. I mention it because I have that tee shirt too after having a new gea...

Re: Help! Think I might upgrade to an F15

Hi, I guess its each to their own. Its a bit of a sensitive subject as we are all on different incomes and if you are on a low income the last thing you want to read is someone posting that after getting their massive £250 k bonus, they waltzed into their local dealer , ticked every box and walked o...

Re: Non run flat tyres wearing more in the middle.

Hi, 20K out of them is really really good. Most X5's, by the time the 315 rears have wear in the middle, the inner edge is down to the canvas as they have so much neg camber. If your tyres are evenly worn on both edges then you have the rear geometry at zero I guess, neither positive nor negative ca...

Re: F16 X6 - M Sport or No M Sport - Suspension Question :)

Hi, SE is the way to go . I have X5 with Y214 20" wheels and option S225 Std suspension  and option P330 Sport package. I regularly do Kent to Newcastle and I can tell you with the comfort seats its a great mile muncher. I really think the SE suspension is much better than the M sport for our r...

Re: My experience of Dealership are stealers

£54 for a stamp..................when it should have been done @ the time anyway = overcharging to me. I would think from a BMW warranty perspective the service is on their records so should not stop you having the warranty. I am hearing that  quite a few manufacturers now are opting for no service ...

Re: Run Flat tyre puncture repair scandal.

Hi, I agree the tyre is repairable and it was never " out of air " so I am certain no damage at all. I am in Sevenoaks and I have called dealers as far north as Orpington  and as far south as Tunbridge wells..............every one refuses to fix it. I even called the BMW dealer I got the c...

Run Flat tyre puncture repair scandal.

Hi, I thought I would post as the issue has really irritated me. I know RFT/NON rft topic has been well discussed. However if you have RFT you need to be aware of this ............ So not 2 weeks ago I had 4 new Dunlop RFT tyres at great expense. Yesterday the Mrs got a puncture. We have a nice fat ...

Re: X40d tracking and alignment 20 inch staggered wheels

Hi, I had exactly that issue . I found a local garage with a Huntsman laser machine. Although all corners were within BMW specs, I made him adjust the fronts to the limit of the BMW specs and since then my fronts wear absolutely perfectly even and I have had 3 times the mileage out of the second set...

Re: Can't move.

Hi, I am not disputing the " popping out" of the drive shaft. After all I am not a mechanic. That said I have a little experience and unless there is a catastrophic failure of the drive shaft so that it actually splits, it should be physically impossible for a drive shaft to just " po...

Re: Question for the Infotainment/Comms experts.

Thank you all for all the input/advice and your time.

Will search further. As people have said , I can get BMW apps, but the list of available apps tiny and I certainly  have no interest in facebook, twatter or wiki whilst I am driving thats for sure.

Regards,
Nat.
