New X6......maybe

I was in the dealership picking up my X6 which was in to have the steering column replaced and as is often the case when picking up at 5 pm there was a queue of customers at the service desk. So rather than accept a coffee I thought I'd take a stroll around the show room. BIG MISTAKE as ten minutes ...

Re: A Few Observations

Does this require some sort of deep penetration into the menus to resolve?
RIGHT! The pair of you - take this offline with you and your new pink cars! :spiteful:
Nice one Sanj :)) The easy way to check the colour is to call up the RTTI traffic ...

Ups and downs

So I have just completed the installation of my extended storage rails in my X6 and what a pig of a job it was! The kit did not include instructions but I had a good idea what i had to do thanks to some much appreciated advice from X5Sport. So half the boot dismantled in the garage and the wife ...

Re: Put down a deposit on this

Very nice indeed. Lots of toys to play with there. :)
Very nice......but..... If it's a 40d, should it not say 8-speed rather than 6? I thought all 40d cars were 8sp, only the 35d and 30d were 6 speed. Could be a typo, but worth checking all the same.
When I was looking for ...

Re: About to pull the trigger

First impressions are good. The ride is not too harsh even on my local country roads and the handling is superb. The toys are great although the reversing camera is going to take some getting used to as I nearly swiped the back of my wife's car as I backed up the ...

Re: About to pull the trigger

Cheers guys for the info. I looked at the halfords 3 ton jobbie but it has a small cup so no good. There s a perfect model in the local motorist store but its £130. It's a Arcan XL30R which I'm sure I can find cheaper on the net. Anyway, I've had a smashing evening driving around in the new toy. I ...

Re: About to pull the trigger

So tomorrow is collection day. :) With a bit of luck the weather will hold as it would be nice to keep it clean for just a few hours! I did have a bit of a wobble thinking I should wait a bit or a good spec facelift 40d to become available but decided the price difference and further deprecation of ...

Re: About to pull the trigger

Thanks for the info on the angel eyes.

I think I need to do some research as they seem to vary in intensity.

Re: About to pull the trigger

Thanks chaps I think I'm going to have to get one of those jacking blocks. First thing to address is the 'yellow' angel eyes. I think cars look rubbish when manufacturers mix white and yellow lighting together. The first thing I did on all of my Audis was to mod the fogs as they come on with the ...

Re: About to pull the trigger

Hi Richard, Thanks for your comments. I did trawl though most of the forum topics so I have a rough idea of some of the issues encountered. I spotted the rear diff thread, nightmare! :( As for the ride, I'm kind of used to a few bumps as the Q5 is on sports suspension with 20" low profiles and ...
