Re: Comms screen slow to load up

I have this issue on my '02. It happened last winter, was fine in the summer and is now happening again. I think it is caused by the nav computer as occasionally, if it takes a really long time for the screen to appear, instead of the BMW logo and the normal screens, I get a bright blue, blocky text...

Re: Snow for the X's

Been out in our 4.6, Toyo summers on (though the backs are brand new), not had problems yet though watching the guy from Lepsons ripping around in a winters shod Citroen C3 has convinced me for next year! Our MX5 as a coupe: http://farm6.static.flickr.com/5009/5226270227_3dd74e1466.jpg IMG_5659 by K...

Re: BMW to recall 350,000 vehicles due to brake issues

I rang the helpline after seeing the story to see if it affected the X models but the guy said it didn't.

Re: Just when I was gonna treat it...

About a litre per 1,000 miles I think. Maybe a bit more. I assume it had been leaking for a while and created a pool in the undertray which eventually leaked over. I had an Inspection II done over the last couple of days and the cam gaskets was the verdict, no traces anywhere else on the block appar...

Re: Just when I was gonna treat it...

Turns out that it is the cam cover gaskets, apparently a laborious process as I have been quoted £800 and a whole day to fix it :(

Just when I was gonna treat it...

Booked my 4.6 in with jason today for a little work to hopefully sort out all the little issues I have been having, thought to myself, "That'll get everything sorted, no worries for a bit". Get back to the car park and there is a little puddle of oil under the front left! Gutted isn't enou...

Hello again

Hi everybody! I'd only recently signed up to the previous site before it disappeared, read some of the posts about what went on and it seems that it was quite a shame, but at least we are all here again now! Just as a reminder, I'm based in Kent and bought a 2002 4.6iS late last year which has prove...
