Re: How low have you been?

This was taken in Feb 2010 - I'm sure it was colder but this is the only photo I took of the temp guage. http://i864.photobucket.com/albums/ab206/slieverue/Car/iPhone004.jpg Was really impressed with the X though, started every day without fail and this was when the temperature didn't get above zero...

Re: Vredestein Sessanta Tyres

Am in the market for changing the rears and was seriously looking at these. Replaced the Michelins on my last X5 with Toyo's and was very impressed with them. Although I did only run them for 3 months before I sold it, so can't comment on longevity, but overall performance was very good - road noise...

Headlights upgrade - non Xenon!

Likewise. Very good and also replaced a faulty part with no problems. Would suggest getting modified bulb holders so that you don't need to cut the wires to feed through the existing bulb holders. Makes the whole fitting take about 30 minutes rather than the 2 hours it took me the first time I did a...

Re: Hi all (again)

thanks guys - yes I'm very pleased with my purchase. My reasons for changing are basically mileage. I'm currently doing about 20-25,000 miles per year, so I try and buy a car with lowish miles, keep it for a year and sell it on without it depreciating too much. I know a lot of you will think it kind...

BMW X5 E53 WINDOW REGULATOR REPAIR KIT FRONT - RIGHT

Hi all I have a "BMW X5 E53 WINDOW REGULATOR REPAIR KIT FRONT - RIGHT" for sale. I bought it for the last X5 but didn't need it in the end as the window was just sticking and a little bit of silicon lubricant spray sorted the slow window movement. Anyway, these go for about £20 including ...

My `Telephone` option has vanished !

Nige This has happened to me from time to time in the past. Instead of disconnecting the battery I just pulled the necessary fuse from the panel in the right hand fuse panel in the boot. Not sure what number it is off hand but there should be a guide on the panel. When you are in there you might fin...

Buying an E53 3.0D...

Beautiful looking car. Looks like it's been very well looked after.

Like the titanium grill on black. Looks very smart.

Just need to get the HIDs done and you'll be all set! ;-)

Battery Draining overnight

AW8

Response noted and it's a good point - much better to get this sorted before winter really takes hold.

Will test and feed back.

Fingers crossed!!!

Re: Battery Draining overnight

Hi all Replaced battery this morning and what a difference. Checked the indicator window on the old battery and it was black but yellow around the sides. Black meant battery not fully charged and full yellow meaning replace battery. Anyway checked the voltage of the new bettery tonight before going ...

Re: Buying an E53 3.0D...

Most people have covered all the bases, but for my tupence worth, I would say get as many of the sensible extras that you can (or want to) afford. IMO these would include Heated Seats (was really surprised at how many E53's do not have them) Comms Pack - the Sat Nav is not the best on the market but...

Re: LED Lighting...

Hey Turks we did the same in our kitchen and bathroom - I think in total it was only about 12-15 lights, but at the same time we also changed all the other standard lights to low energy. We have definitely noticed a difference in the bills. Don't ask me what the difference is but it must have been e...

Re: Battery Draining overnight

Wee update for those that are interested.....

Battery was 11.2V according to the OBC this morning - hmmm not good me thinks. Still started, but was a bit of a struggle.

Lets hope the new battery is okay - otherwise it's going to be a real PITA to troubleshoot.

Cheers
