Re: Annual Insurance Renewal - Best Companies to try??
Just changed to AXA from Swiftcover. Swiftcover wanted £440 to renew my X5 3.0d. I went on compare the market and AXA came in at £306 fully comp with protected no claims, that's for me and the Mrs. I can't argue with that. I only do around 5k a year though. Full no claims...
Good evening, Just changed my 57 Reg 635D today for a 2010 X5 3.5D, sad to see the 6 go but family needs sometimes have to take priority especially with the winter looming ever quicker. Having driven the 6 hard it has averaged over the last 31 months at 34.8 mpg which ...

Re: New E83 X3 owner
Hello and Welcome. I used to own one of these.....nice. The E83 is great car, but there's a few things to keep an eye on. The E83 is very fussy about tyres, and hates economy brands, so to avoid a clunking transfer box, always fit matching 'Star Rated' tyres. On some cars the rear window wash plumbi...

Re: Admiral Multi-Car - is there any financial benefit?
I reckon these multi vehicle policies are a complete rip-off. For years i've had multi-bike insurance for my 2 bikes, thinking its the cheapest way. So, i got this years renewal through, and though i'd do a comparison with insuring my bikes separately. WTF...The difference was, a £450 saving over th...

Re: Xenon headlights retrofit advice please ??
I'd plug them in first and see if they just work - you may need some warning cancellers but they are easy to fit ;-)
Ok, i had a go at trying this, but... Why do BMW make it so F*@~##* B~@$*$# impossible to get to the connectors. Admittedly i have huge hands, but...

Re: Xenon headlights retrofit advice please ??
Rusty and Doc... Assumption. There's that word again.. ::) I've assumed that the connectors are different, but having just looked under the bonnet, i think they may be the same. I cant tell for sure because i cant get to the connector, but you boys could be correct, and if so, then the job should be...
As slight hikack (sorry!) but on the subject of Xenon headlights, I am struggling to see the difference if they aren't side-by-side. Do any of the later models have Xenon lamps as standard, if so what year/model/spec?
I'm not 100% sure, but i think the 2010 LCi m...

As a starting point have you tried simply plugging the new ones in?

Re: Xenon headlights retrofit advice please ??
Thanks for the reply Richard. My local BMW dealer quoted me £5k to do the conversion, but that included all new parts. All the independents that i've tried so far are a bit scared to take it on though. The HL units i have, appear to have everything attached, inc. ballasts etc. So i thought it would ...
