Re: Engine not turning over
Thanks Graeme, I'm really hoping it's not wiring. Been there with other cars, complete nightmare!! Gonna fit a new ignition switch over the weekend then covers and see what happens. You can just see into the switch and the contacts that operate the starter are looking a little discoloured so could c...

Re: Engine not turning over
Still not missed a start. Tried to start in R & D today, as expected it wouldn't, moved to P or N and starts perfectly. Steering column covers still off. Just looks like I've hot wired it and stole it

Engine not turning over
Has anyone come across this? Intermittently, when key is turned, all the ignition lights come on, turn to start, nothing!! Lights don't dim or anything. Initially when turned off and tried again it started. Got to the point where it took 5 minutes to get it going. Car is now with my Indy, he removed...

Re: Satnav upgrade
Thanks for that. I've got a DVD player in the boot and rear screens fitted by previous owner, the wiring needs some tidying. (It's a bit DIY to say the least!). I've used the Av In and Out to enable TV & DVD on front & rear screens. A new head unit looks like a good option to get it all inte...

Re: Satnav upgrade
I like the look of these, a bit more up to date. Can anyone throw any light on how complicated they are to fit, as in running cable looms and which, if any of the modules in the boot are used.
Thanks.
Thanks.

Re: New battery earth
Wellies, mine and hers, coats, in case it rains (they were there all summer), an empty backpack, large umbrella (always 'still' in the car when the rain starts!), and some ropes, just in case, 'just in case what' as my better half asks. I'm not even going to start about the side stowage lol.

Re: New battery earth
Thanks for the info on my posts. Regarding the earth point, I'm having the front screen 4:3 ratio issue, combined with not picking up any TV channels. Did a reboot last weekend and all worked ok. I suspect the TV module but trying to prove it. I also seem to have a lot of stuff in my boot that I don...

New battery earth
Has anyone ever thought about creating a new earth connection for the battery somewhere more accessible In the boot?
As our beloved cars seem to need a reboot 'occasionally' it would save a lot of effort.
Any thoughts?

Re: OBC screen appears to display in 4:3 ratio
Thanks for the link. Going for a battery disconnect reboot this weekend. Going to disconnect the intravee and leave off for a few days if all goes back to normal. That thread pretty much describes exactly what mine has been doing. Had a thought today, I wonder if it's possible to connect the battery...

OBC screen appears to display in 4:3 ratio
OK so I've done a few long trips this year. Noticed on a couple of occasions the screen went blank then appeared to reboot. A couple of days ago, the screen just switched to what looks like a 4:3 ratio rather than the full width of the screen. The splash logo on start up is the full width but immedi...

Re: tyre opinions please
As I said earlier, I've had those very Hankook's, was more than happy with them. Only replaced as they got worn due to alignment issues (and its an X5 after all). Would fit them again when I'm happy it's not going to eat another pair of rears lol.

Re: tyre opinions please
I was running Hankook Ventus all round. When they wore quickly due to wheel alignment issues, I fitted cheaper Nexxen Roadians all round until I was happy with the alignment and wear rate. The car feels perfectly ok and drives well on them. Haven't tried them on snow or ice but living in Cornwall, p...
