Knackered clocks

Ok lets get this over with. I am a complete tube.  Before I got my E53 the clocks had been changed when the ribbon went. This was documented with the mileage etc. but its annoyed me cause they were replaced with derv ones. So I decided to replace the background to petrol ones so that the revs etc ma...

Re: Window lift repair ?

I just did mine recently. Replaced both plastic clips. But it turned out to be the cast iron runner that the cable clips into.  £8 on ebay for a plastic one so might be worth changing that as well as it also seems to be a common fault and an easy fix. You dont have to remove the airbag btw. Im not s...

IMO a BMW should have at least 6cyl to match the overall refinement of the car. I personally hate 4 bangers with a passion

Its not a real police van. It was a movie prop on its way to the film set. Thats why the van is very bare with the sign writing.

Got stuck in first gear!

Has this happened to anyone else?
Started driving the car and realised it was stuck in first. So I tried flipping it over to manual mode but the display didn't change and it didn't budge.
Pulled over turned it off and back on, and worked fine.
Anything I should be worried about?
No warnings on dash.

Re: And you think BMW are expensive & issue with the new Mots

If you think thats expensive. My wee Aixam van needed new discs and pads for its mot. You are supposed to put new wheel bearings on when you change the discs but the cost of that was getting silly. Just for front discs and pads £412 at trade price!!  I wasn't too popular when the garage took my disc...

Re: Middle Lane Hoggers to be fined

I usually aggressively make a point of swinging out of lane 1 right at the back of lane 2 and swing right past the nose dropping back into 1.
I know its a bit wankerish. But if it makes a point to 1 car in 10. Its worth it
