Re: Solved the damn boot rattle!! :D
I got loads of rattles in the boot, but they all appear to be the plastic C pillar covers. Need to get round to sorting it as it does drive me potty...

Re: Self-levelling rear suspenion & fitting LPG
Jay,
cheers for the response. Just searched and found Prins is located here in Wolverhampton (only a couple of miles away). Did you bring yours down here to get it done? How long did it take for the conversion?
Thanks,
Raj

Re: Self-levelling rear suspenion & fitting LPG
I've been looking to LPG the 4.8. A place was recommended to me and they appear to be very good at what they do, but the kits they use are from Italy and theyare still checking if they can do the 4.8 Also, I have air suspension front and rear (hence a larger compressor), so again not 100% sure where...

Re: self level susp inact
Lol n'ah, not trying to. Tbh mine was a bit of an extreme case. Plus I have air suspension front and back so a bit more problematic.
I'm sure yours will be something a lot more simple.

[quote=""x555""][quote=""Raj""]I went round a large roundabout at approx 20mph (if that) with a light amount of rain water on the road and the back end started to slide. Never thought I'd be able to get the backend out on the X5 and probably looked quite cool....

Re: self level susp inact
I've heard of the message popping up and then going out and nothing more. But then on my 4.8 I had this and have had to replace the Air suspension control unit, acctuator, valve and the air pump (compressor) itself to sort it. Total cost was £2.2K...... See if it goes out by itself. If not th...

Re: snow??
I've just gone with a brand new set of Toyo Proxes ST tyres all round on the 4.8 I did look into buying a set of 19s for winter and then a set of Vredsteins but with the total cost I just couldn't justify it. Over the last winter period I only got stuck once in the M5 on PS2 tyres (which are a prope...

Re: X5 Car Tax (pre 2006)
This is the exact reason my M5, the X5, 530d, etc, etc have all been pre March '06. £245 for the 4.8is so I'm happy.

Re: Xenon Lights
It is only mandatory for autolevelling and wash system when factory fitted from new. After market kits are not subject to this. Little loophole I guess.

Re: Sorry - another tyre thread!
I too am old school in my train of thought on tyres. The way I have always looked at it is that the only contact between me and the road is my tyres. Having different front and rears tyre types (although is not 100% an issue) has always been a bit if a no-no in my own mind. As mentioned above, diffe...

Re: Xenon Lights
You can either get replacement bulbs that are whiter in colour or go with a HID kit.
