Re: Trickle charging
The only unexpected result I had from an XS3600 CTEK was after 2 months charging on my previous M, I took the car for a service and the report was that the battery was empty. They kept it overnight as it was an Inspection 1 service and recharged it during that time after whic...

Re: Trickle charging

Where the Lidl ones fail is after a power cut. When the power comes back on they revert to standby mode and don't charge again till you set them. That's fine if you're around but not so good if you're away for 3 months and the power cut happens in the first week. I have a couple of C-Teks and a coup...

It's under the any claims or accidents in the last 5 years. It will not affect your NCB but will be pa...

My guy bought a coil of copper pipe and made them all himself. Looks like he saved me about £300 doing it that way.
I have seen some terrible jobs done this way due to sheer laziness not taking off the under-car trays etc. and just attac...

That was all the metal pipes, back and front. Changed to copper as well so they won't rust.

Re: MOT advisory - Corroded brake pipes

If you've got real corrosion, and that's not so unusual, then you should change all the metal pipes. When I had mine done by my local indy it was just over £300. Mine was a hole in the offside rear which manifested itself by spewing brake fluid all over the road........where I was parked thankfully....

Re: White smoke coming from exhaust.

Yours will likely have the old style breather, unless someone has changed it in the past, so I suspect that's the problem. Up-date it to the vortex breather, it's only £45 and an hours labour, and I suspect your problem will go away. Usual symptoms are brownie grey smoke as opposed to white but the ...

Re: Now the X has gone

Thanks for all your best wishes and as for Audi boy, I did my reliability apprentiship on a P38 Range Rover, which as we all know are made of cheese, so that doesn't bother me. Never bother with warranties. Just good preventitve maintenance. I think most of the problems with these type of cars is wh...

Re: Hello

Welcome Rob.

To anyone who Rob buys spares/accessories from you will have no problems. Honest, pays quickly and decisive.  How do I know. The rubber mats used to be mine.

Enjoy your X. They are great cars. I've had 3 although the new Range Rover Supercharged is another story.
