Re: Moving on from X5

I was surprised by the frailties of the handles. I also forgot to mention the entire rear bumper was replaced do the the clip issues that other owners have experienced.. I would have extended the warranty, but BMW wanted silly money. M5 is a brand new car, currently being built, so will have a full ...

Re: Moving on from X5

End of the day it's a big heavy car but I was expecting better to be honest.

Previous car was a Jag XFS and that would see 29/30 MPG driven in the same way.

Next car - well forget about MPG, it's a F10 BMW M5

Moving on from X5

So having owned a 2010 LCI 4.0d M Sport for the last 18 months, it's time to move on and try something different.. I tend to only keep my cars for a few years and I wasn't planning on moving it just yet, but a good deal on another car was too good to turn down. Thought I would summarise my owner exp...

Re: comfort access

BMW replaced rear bumper for free.

Waiting to hear if they will replace handle as a good will gesture (given the car is out of warranty).

Waiting for car to be delivered back.

comfort access

When I took delivery of my car from BMW (approved) the drivers door wouldn't work the comfort access (locking/unlocking). After going mental at BMW for not spotting something so obvious during 200 odd car checks, prior to me finding the issue within seconds of getting the car, a new handle was order...

Re: Those with rear climate control

Everytime I go back to the setting its unticked.

I must admit i haven't read up on how this should work.

Re: Looking to buy an e70 but do I go petrol or diesel?

My 4.0D returns 24 MPG.

I must admit I do find this a little disappointing - but given the size and weight of it, it was never going to be super efficient.  Not sure on the MPG for a petrol - the X5M do look good value for money -  no idea what they would be like to run..

Re: 333m Wheel colour

I had my wheels painted the same colour as yours after a refurbed set started to re-corrode after 6 months and the supplying BMW dealer weren't interested.  Agree the standard finish is nice - but i don't mind the grey and makes it look a little different to the thousands of other X5s out there at l...

Re: Rear Seat Lock error

I get the same error, if I lay a rear seat down/ flat and then when returning it back to the upright position, its not "clicked" into place correctly - a firm push of the seat will lock it in position and then the message goes.

Hi,

See my other thread about runflat tyres, especially when you don't know how they have been maintained prior to your ownership.

Re: Replacement Alloys - again !

BMW had all my wheels refurbished when i got my car - 8 months later they had all corroded again around the hubs.  Dealer blamed how they had been cleaned and wasn't interested.  I got fed up of it all just had the wheels painted instead. I now have the issue with the rear bumper that others have re...

Re: 20" wheels replaced under warranty

I had my wheels re-finished by the dealer (via a wheel company) on my car before I collected it. My car was AUC and had the tell tale signs of corrosion around the hubs etc. When I collected the car the wheels looked mint. 6 months later they had all corroded again and surprise surprise the dealer w...

Re: 4.0d booked in with Jason @ BWChiptune on Saturday!

Will be interesting to see the MPG figures for yours after.

Mine had similar MPG pre and dropped to 24/25 MPG after the map.

I think with all the extra omph on tap, you end up driving harder and therefore using more diesel..

Cheers
