Re: Door Handle Fix (E53)

Recently just changed a CV joint!  Why is when you fix something another thing breaks?

Re: Help Smoke driving me mad

Mine is exactly the same and it is a Diesel engine so going to do this.  If I take the car on a spirited drive the smok goes for a bit but a week later if not driven hard then it does same thing, I am used to it now and had several things checked out. I do however know that one of my glow plugs need...

Re: Service and gearbox service

Mine is on 120k now and when they changed it they said it was black and crusty!

I am a believer in nothing is for life :(

Mine is a 2004 3.0D

Hopefully the lurching stays away but if so will get the update for it

Service and gearbox service

Just had inspection 2 done on the motor and also got gearbox oil and filter changed.

What a difference! So much smoother in gears now and no more lurching!!

Also got front pads changed as they where pretty low :(

Need to get some pics up of the motor really as well

Re: Gearbox advice please

Re: Oh no! Transmission Failsafe Prog!

I recently go the trans failsafe warning after the battery died on me, once jump started I drove home to give it charge and it only drives in 3rd or 4th gear I believe, once it had enough time to charge I switched off and then on again and the error message went and all has been good.

Cylinder 6 Glow plug

After doing a 1.4.0.9;4.1.1 scan this error code was evident

Now the running of the car seems OK but want sort of symptons would I have if something was wrong?  is it worth changing the plug or all plugs?

Re: Alloy Wheel protector/sealant

I am a bit of a bufty and always polish the new wheels first, then seal twice with poorboys wheel sealant and then put a wax on top of that.

The dirt just runs off!

Re: am I just being a big girls blouse...

Check the power streeing fluid as mine was manky and making a noise lock to lock.  I got a massive syringe from ebay and removed it all, topped it up and removed it all again after doing lock to lock, repeated this for a whole bottle and then topped up and all was good.
