'08 3.0 SD purchased in August from BMW dealer. Rear suspension failed in a matter of days (poor PDI probably); fixed under warranty. It's now failed again. Sinking overnight. Just started it up and it's now higher one side than the other. Grrrrr!! Car booked in to be looked at, but the first da...

Warped front disks...
I think this is a common problem no? They were new in August when I bought the car from BMW (so AUC) and are now warped. Any chance of a warranty claim do you think?

Re: service for front brake pads cost
I've just had a flyer through the post from BMW. £259 for front pads, £269 for rear pads (and £265 for oil and micro filter). (For vehicles over 4 years old)

I had this once. I think it can be caused by the cold.

Re: Finally Found my X5!! My First
Mine looks just like that - same wheels. I think they look OK actually, but I'd be keen to see what the alternatives might be.

Windscreen washer reservoir runs out really quickly
My windscreen washer reservoir runs out really quickly - just done 200 miles in two days and it's gone from full to empty. Admittedly they were grotty days, with mucky spray and a fair bit of windscreen washing required - but it was much better than this in my old X53. It's not leaking. Is this a ...

Re: DVD drive
Ok thanks all - slightly reassuring.
Has anyone changed the drive? I can get a "replacement" nag disk to work in mine, and a weak laser is cited as the problem. I found this how to: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mp3uIM77Fiw but it still looks a bit daunting!

Holy thread resurrection batman...
But - has anyone bought a boot liner recently (for 5 seater)? There are so many on ebay it's impossible to know which are any good. Or just go for the genuine item - at £66???
I use MTEC filament bulbs which are white, though not as bright as factory. Nothing on the market so far will give you that look. UPDATE: I think it was these type of bulbs. Straight swap. Richard
I fitted these todays (what a faff), and they're much better th...
