Re: CHANGING 3.0d breather assembly

Hi guys, is there way of telling before dismantling what type of separator is fitted? Just by looking at it after removing the engine cover, as the VIN no. does not seem to be reliable check what is there. Someone who had both - old and new in the hand, who can tell what to look for? Thanks for your...

Re: Door Handle Fix (E53)

Sanj, I have to thank you for great instruction how-to. I have tried the tie wrap strenghtened by superglue, but I realised I did not engage the spring, which holds the handle in and while attempting to engage the spring, it came apart. So I have drilled 2.5mm hole and used M2.5 screw and nut to hol...

Re: Reverse Camera Install (E53)

Hi Sanj, you are such a guru on X5. I did not install the reversing camera yet, I was not well and it was cold... Now I am thinking of FLIR camera, which would be mounted in the front grille. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hAW_5qqvvJQ So if I want to have best of both worlds, than in order to switch...

Re: Reverse Camera Install (E53)

Hi Sanj, thanks for your comment. I am thinking about the camera postion, if it is higher and angled down to see the bumper. I have some spacers cut at an angle for the camera to look down. Where is the damn TV box?
thanks.

Re: Reverse Camera Install (E53)
Hahaa! I was wondering when this would get you! You need the relay to switch the power so at £3.49 or £5 at best do it. Be sure... And that camera seems a little deep in the back where it would recess into the light holder - check that first, sorry I can't remem...

Re: Parking heater remote start- Enabling

Sounds like mine, I think it is the water circulation. The heater gets going, overhats as no water circulates, and as a consequence it shuts down.

Re: Parking heater remote start- Enabling
otto, you can check if the water is circulating by unscrewing the coolant filler cap when the heater is running. there should be a jet of water visible if the pump is pumping.
Thanks fenj, I have tried it now with open coolant filler cap. The heating go...

Re: SatNav Screen Protection or Replacement
After all this I needed some sort of screen protection. The solution was simple, glass 10cms by 15cms from any frameless frame! Just sandwich that in as you put the unit back together. You’ll be surprised with the results, brings the screen to life! http://i377...

Re: Parking heater remote start- Enabling

Hi discerning owners ot the Big Intimidator. I am a newbie, got X5 couple of weeks ago, and I am thrilled. The original buyer ticked all the option boxes, apart from the heating remote. Right now I am trying to enable the heater, the weather calls for it. Shame the BMW leaves these things hidden. Ma...
