Re: Normal operating temps on dash indicator
Mine was left like this for some time and it ended up causing my DPF filter to block. As the engine never thought the car was up to temp, it never burnt off the DPF which it only does at full temp. Unblocking the DPF is a bloody nightmare using a laptop or expensive for replacement/repair. Sent from...

Re: X3 3.0d man - list of issues
its 18k meters rather than miles so it's not too long ago. but it can activate the regen then stop straight away. I would say that your DPF is probably fine, if you are reading the errors from DIS and you're not getting either 480a or 481a then it's unlikely that your DPF is blocked. The backpressur...

Re: X3 3.0d man - list of issues
The temp might be normal then if the car wasn't completely up to temperature. The back pressure seems good too. What makes you think the DPF is actually blocked or not regening?

Re: X3 3.0d man - list of issues
Your last regen was 18k meters ago.
Your temp before cat is very low (was your car up to temp at this point?)
Back pressure looks good for 3000. Mine was around 350mbar at 3000.
What kind of issues are you getting and are there any error codes?

Re: X3 3.0d man - list of issues
Run the quick test and when this is finished you proceed to the screen showing any faults and symptoms. Click the button at the bottom that says 'function selection' then click the third option 'service functions' - 'drive' - 'diesel electronics' - 'particulate filter' - 'regeneration, particulate f...

Re: X3 3.0d man - list of issues
Sorted! Fixed the DPF! It's definitely a 2 man job. Process goes like this. Get car up to temperature, Then get somewhere just off a dual carriage way or motorway and clear all fault codes. Then initiate a regen through DIS or whatever device you use. (My temp as this point got to a max of 300 degre...

Re: Can I reset the Inspection Light on Dashboard?
Try this
Ignition OFF (POS 0)
Press and Hold the trip odometer button while turning key to position 1 (ACCESSORY)
Keep the button depressed (about 5 secs.) until you see “Oil Service” or “Inspection” with “Reset” or “Re” in the display then let go

Re: X3 3.0d man - list of issues
I've been driving it as per the conditions. It says on my comp to drive above 60kmh but if heavily blocked then 30 mins above 2000rpm and at least 245degs at before the cat...... Quite a few t's & c's to adhere to. Gave it a 30 min blast on the dual carriage way and still nothing. Will try and f...

Re: X3 3.0d man - list of issues
Also, the engine light came on.... Is that something to do with emissions?

Re: X3 3.0d man - list of issues
Got it all done! - Put the new blower motor in. What a PITA that was! - put the swirl flap blanks in and cleared out the egr and a bit of the inlet manifold - the egr was chokka. Took an age to clean! - fit the new thermostat and that has improved things massively. Issue I have now is the DPF wont r...

Whoops. Meant to say I don't have an egr stat. Still got the valve though.
