Explain AUC extended warranty for me please

Thanks for the replies guys

im concerned that when the 12 month one runs out the quote for an extension may well be too much to stomach, ive asked a dealer who has a 14 plate f10 m5 in for a quote on a 2nd years warranty so will see what he says.

regards

Re: x5m/x50d or 50i

The M which I have has performance that is not comparable to any other X5 I have had before. Very pleasant ... :D which year is yours? have you had any issues with it? im kinda scared of getting one as i know they can be very costly thats why im hoping the bmw warranty is good and not like every ot...

Re: x5m/x50d or 50i

I wouldn't be using a big diesel for such short journeys or you will be getting all sorts of emissions problems. The 50i is basically the same as an M with different turbos and other M bits missing. But it's not an M....... There can be a multitude of problems with the M engines (read the American ...

Re: buying approved used

[quote="X5Sport"] Best times are possibly around new plate change, though many are now leased so less relevant.  End of financial quarter can also be a ‘driver’.  My Dealer was very keen to get my new car on the road to meet their quarter targets. Dealers often add £2.5k to the sticker pri...

Re: 40d timing chain issue

[quote="X5Sport"] I think we’ve had just one on here.....the M62 4.8V8 has a far higher failure rate.  Hardly a common problem given the number of 40d variants at all mileage’s and production years on the Forum.  Are you sure you aren’t mixing up with the N47 engine rather than the N57 eng...

40d timing chain issue

so ive been looking into different models and some of the common issues and ive heard of the 40d having timing chain issues. on which years was this? was there a recall on the part that failed? if i bought a car with the auc warranty would it cover any damage caused by the chain failing? thanks in a...

(none for sale on the approved used bmw site). i plan on using the car to do alot of driving around europe with the mrs so would an e53 now be too old/unreliable? i...

Re: should i buy a diesel or not

[quote="X5Sport"] Only if it is a car equipped with a DPF.  Smoke on a non-DPF car is fine (and you cannot stop).  It just has to pass the relevant EU smoke test. I have just ordered another diesel as petrol makes no sense with us doing 18k miles a year.  Some diesel cars are appreciating ...
