Re: M50D questions
Just a quick update, the test drive with the local dealer did not go great. We were meant to drive a 40d m sport to try out the adaptive m sport suspension as I couldn't find an M50d close by. When we turned up for the test drive we were presented by a 30d se which the sale...

Re: Heater blower always on

Check the temperature settings on the A/C. If you've set high, like 21c or so it may be that.

Also, try turning the A/C off when you start.

Re: 50d fuel consumption 1250

Think I will just close my eyes and forget the costs, at least there is an 85l tank, so I can pretend I still have a 60l one

Re: 50d fuel consumption 1250
1250 miles in and the car is wonderful  :) I still have have to remember I'm not driving an M5 which was so fast it could tear internal organs from your body but the 50d is certainly no slouch (I'd really would like to have come from a 'normal' car so I could appreciate ...

Re: 50d fuel consumption 1250

I have just done 800 miles down to Devon and back, M4/M5 plus single track roads, negotiating Farmer Giles and co!

Overall 32MPG, but that was due to steady motorway speed due to traffic, so couldn't unleash as much as I wanted. So pretty pleased.

Re: M50D questions

The review comments about detached steering- not on this forum- made me question. But in all honestly it's not a problem. I have just done 250 miles today and there is nothing that has made me think....ooh hold on a minute I don;t like that. It is a fantastic car and more comfortable than my 535D. I...

Low telephone level - if an iPhone then you may need to turn it up on the phone too.  I have had that issue in three cars and always found it was the level on the phone that was the cause.  May be the same on Android units but have never owned one.

Thanks will try

Observations having had the car for a week

M50D report. Mark G has already given a great run down on his car. My observations are: Ride comfort great, comfort seats fantastic. MPG is around 34, I typically got 39 out of my 535D (mainly motorway) expect the figure to go up to 35, so only 4 or 5 short of the old car and given the BHP/NM pretty...

Re: Width limits

Marlow bridge with those bollards, tight in my 535d, so X5 :o

Has anyone gone through a 6'6" width limit?
I'd try and avoid it to be honest - unless the surround view makes it much easier/doable?  Marlow Bridge is the clos...

Re: Some images of new M50D

Indeed, I also had the radar detector and dashcam hardwired which avoids meters of USB leads. If I didn't get this done the CEO at home would have..............but as Basil Fawlty once said ' you would have to sew them back on first'
It looks really nice!  Enjoy ...

Re: Some images of new M50D
Hi Well that is good news and progress with the quality of engines on how new cars can do this, where as a few years ago some petrol BMW had to have an initial service after 1,000 miles. I guess you'll have a bigger smile as you've done that when you press the loud pedal...

Re: Some images of new M50D

Graeme, the advice given by BMW was it is not needed for the engine, just be gentle for first 200 miles to bed in brakes and tyres

Re: Some images of new M50D

Thanks Guys, car is perfect. The detail job was 100%.
Such a great car and happy with my choice, no issues but only 250 miles.
It drives sedately, but put it into Spot mode and woosh. :D
