Lost service history, only had the car 8 months, just got a receipt for a service about this time last year.
Thermostat was replaced with genuine at BMW chip tune, my scanner says water temp is approx 88-90 degrees C, not sure if the N47 engine also has 2 stats?
Will have a look into the oil ...

What is your mileage?
What is the service history like?
First buy a C110 scanner from eBay for around £40 or Carly BMW (£80 is for dongle and software).
Cheap items to do which if nothing else is good maintenance is:
Both Thermostats
Toilet roll breather for the vortex type

HELP! Have I blown my turbo !?!?
Hi All,
What happened (2007 (57) X3 20d 177ps N47
Driving down motorway today, started juddering/limp mode, loud whistle, just about made it home in 1 piece
Car still starts but there is no whistle anymore, but there is a rattle coming from the Turbo area, like a 10 pence coin spinning in a Coke ...

Re: 4x 235 55 17 Bridgestone Turanza EL42* 6MM * STAR RATED TYRES RRP £500
From memory (and if I'm reading the DOT week and year number correctly) 2 of them are 2013 and the other 2 are 1-2 years older but will have to go in the garage to double check
But as they are not winter tyres the year is not as critical, as winter tyre's harden over time

STAR * RATED TYRES AND AFTERMARKET RIMS (RE: Knocking from trans box) !!!
Hi All,
As you know the E83 X3 suffers from knocking noises from the transfer box if you got dodgy tyres on.
So my X3 has OEM 17" rims all round (none staggered) with the same budget tyres all round (235/55/17), although they're the same budget tyres with same even tread wear, its still knocking ...

Proud new X3 owner, just bought a 2007 BMW X3 E83 Facelift 2.0 20d SE 5dr 2 weeks ago. However its going very down hill.
Test drive was perfect. After purchase I noticed clunking/grinding noise from the rear and the parking sensors not working. From searching the clunk seems to be from 4 ...
