E53 4.4 (2005 41k) Engine failsafe prog.. keeps coming up... what is the issue how to fix.. please... 👍 having just spent 5k at an BMW main dealership having my ECU unit, starter motor and other bits now, they gave it a health check what ever that is.. still have a issue... any help would be great... ...

Hi Mate.. Trust you are well.. thank you very much for your reply.. my X5 is in a garage and I who hope they would have checked all the above.. went in 10 weeks ago now, had a intermediate starting issue (maybe starter motor) new one fitted then no crank.. had the units key sent away for testing ...

NO Crank help please

E53 issue no crank, (2005 4.4L v8) starter motor and ECU units tested ok... told maybe a broken/corroded wire.. anyone had the same issue? easy to find and fix.. I hope so.. 👍 where do you start, garage to carry out point to point wire check, any help please would be great... :thumbsup:

X5Andym It all started with the starter motor not starting, from time to time, all lit up but no start, after a few attempts all good, car running, had this checked out, new starter motor required not the same original make Bosch but Lucas was available, car was left with no battery power for a few ...

Thank you all for your feed back... gave the gear stick a push forward in park and held in place car started... put in neutral tried to start, failed... held the gear stick push to side car stared, thick you may have pointed me in the right direction... switch on the gearbox.. what do you think ...

Advice please I have a 2005 X5 4.4, (V8 )very low mileage for the year, (39.000) I have a misfiring problem sometime when I have not use the car for a week or so... when first starting up the vehicle.. maybe lack of use.. ? :headbang:
