I have a 14 BMW R12RT too and they have exhaust flaps that are built into the header pipe, they're known to seize and you have to replace the exhaust headers to fix the problem. However, they usually seize in the "open" position ...

114,000 miles. Didn't see them and haven't had chance to chat with my mate (who did the job) about the condition

Every BMW I've had, from 1980's E28's to E32's, E34's, E46's have had the vacuum operated instant MPG gauge.

Is it possible to "code" one to the OBC on a 2007 e83 3.0sd ?

Hi my 2007 e38 3.0sd msport has the spec detailed below. From what I'm reading if it has navigation, Bluetooth and assist it should have voice control. I've tried holding down the "face" button and there's no "beep". Just pressing the button quickly has the system accessing the phone as expected but ...
