Leslie the spun bearings were due to oil starvation, the dpf has been recently removed. The adblue has been deleted jut it is still being used, I had to refill. Marti yes they were used so I'm guessing pointing towards injectors

Replaced the following parts Crank resurfaced All bearings changed 2 x conrod changed New piston rings X 6 All 6 injectors changed but they were used f...

Smoking and strong exhaust smell
The turbo is new, as in it was fitted 3000 miles again when engine was rebuilt, the smoke continues for a minute or two after being driven hard with a strong smell. Bit like diesel, my indi said could be excess diesel. Carly is dieing injector 4 and 5 is outside parameters.

Smoking and strong exhaust smell
Hi guys just needed your help with this issue, basically when the car is driven a little harder or say uphill under load it seems to smoke and carries on smoking for a minute or two once coming to a stop. When I've got outside its a strong pungent smell, possibly unburnt diesel, it kind of stings my...

Which Oil do you guys use? and your service interval
I do oil changes every 6k miles and use Millers LL04-spec oil and Mann or Bosch filters. The car has had more than twice the oil changes in the 5+ years/52k miles since I bought it than it had with two owners (and "FBMWSH") the previous 5 years/70k miles. IMHO if it was going to spin a be...

Which Oil do you guys use? and your service interval
Spun bearings mostly x police cars was it not, a lot were sold to the public before the issues were caught on of these cars idling for hours then flat to the mat with diluted oil and long service intervals. Any approved oil will be grand, if its going to fail it will fail regardless as the damage h...

Which Oil do you guys use? and your service interval
I think the Castrol FST meant to be very good. There's an engine builder who have a page on Instagram they literally have an N57 every week for a spun bearing. I don't know what changed between the M57 and the N57?

Which Oil do you guys use? and your service interval
Hi guys from personal experience, and with the spotlight recently on the N57 engine, I think it would be wise to change oil and filters (oil) every 6-8k miles. What is your opinion? there seems to be a lot of bottom end failures on high mileage cars with longer service intervals. Also which oil do y...

DPF, EGR, Swirl Flaps deletes and DEF - strange exhaust smell
So basically I have had an engine rebuild and had the emmisions items deleted. I mean physically still there but mapped out. Thing is the exhaust fumes are a little and sometimes I'm getting white deposit on the exhausts could this be DEF leaking?

Vibration on accelerating 30d
Just an update so basically I have had the front drive shafts replaced. They did have some play in them especially the right side. However I am still having some vibration although I would say it has reduced.
