Faults

You are having a rough time of it :driving: My passat is offroad as the motman knocked a big hole in the rear suspension arms the springs sit into with his big hammer. I thought you were not allowed to hammer stuff in the mot but clearly its fine over here in NI.He battered the hell out of them last ...

Key fob

As it was working before hopefully its something simple , I take it its out of service mode now , both keys wont be faulty at the same time so its unlikley to be a key issue , they do however charge while driving though but should soon come back to life within a few miles if they were going to . It ...

BMW X5 E53 - FAULT CODE 05 - AIRBAG

You will have generated a code as said which will need cleared to get the light out ,it wont reset itself and most cheap code readers cant clear airbag codes .

High Rate of Battery Discharge Error

It's most likely an earth corrosion issue causing a high resistance and voltage drop , I've read on here about earth wires on the boot floor that were crumbling and corroded where a bunch of them join the floor I can't find the thread but that's what I'd be looking for next.
I've never coded a ...

Like budget cars I've had before you need to decide if you can live with various faults as otherwise especially using dealers costs for a budget luxury car will soon get silly, 200 for a crappy yellow bulb most people bin for white leds is crazy , so much for laws that state bulbs should be a ...

High Rate of Battery Discharge Error

Was the engine running when the charging fault error occured ? as this fault can occur when doors are open too long etc as the current draw is quite high till it shuts down after 20 mins or so.

Looking at the pic again it will be above passenger airbag so yes they will be right at it which is a bit of a result as labour would be pricey if they had to do it otherwise.

I'd think the wiring will be a mirror image for LHD , not sure if they take the dash out as that would be a big job and the passenger airbag should be removable without that but maybe it isn't.Its an all day job or mine was anyway.
Hope it's sorted soon anyway

Budget E70 going to bite me?

It's probably just a wheel bearing , should be easy to find once off the ground and it's very hard to pinpoint in the car .

The budget E70 has landed.......

Well its one of those problems that is going to be a right pain but I hope you can get it sorted , its rarely as simple as the seller makes out otherwise they would have fixed it already :headbang:

F25 heating problem

I'd hazard a guess due to the part being in backorder it's a common enough issue , volkswagen had the same in the passat around 2015/16, they said it was alloy corrosion but it's well known to be a bag of fine crystals they put in the expansion tank rupturing with age and blocking the matrix. No ...

It clearly wasn't an issue either to last 7 years which is a very decent battery life
