Not Starting X5 3.0 DIESEL 06

Glow plugs won't be the Non starting issue, they don't need them til below freezing. A leak off test with bottles to each injector, or a smooth running test if you can get it going maybe using easy start, is the battery fully charged or even get a jump start to get max crank speed as it will help ra...

The price of headlights is crazy and for fairly cheap, run of the mill cars too , leds were supposed to be cheap as opposed to expensive xenons they replaced. Plus these are the first things to get broken in a minor crash and the lens is never separate which might be all its needs , no its bonded in...

Looking for F15. Should I consider diesel for short trips?

You choice is very limited as you say as they are nearly all diesels and for good reasons , are f15's ulez compliant ? Id imagine they may not be probably not the earlier ones anyway :driving:

X5 F15- intermittent Chassis Restriction Fault

Sounds very like an airbag and id recommend arnott bags as said... very good quality, the cheap ones tend be be far thinner and "pop" in a relatively short time again.

2011 X1 towbar wiring problem.

Id imagine its an absolute nightmare to fit the oe wiring and it goes all the way to the front fusebox under the carpet and then needs coding , that's the way it was with other cars , it should be mandatory for car makers to provide an easy point for plug and play in the rear of the car . I have a 7...

Wheel rim protection

I'd say they are worth a try, it's very easy to kerb a wheel as these cars are so wide now for parking on the roadside I find.

Looking for F15. Should I consider diesel for short trips?

How short are the journeys? As long as once a week it gets a good run it should be fine  my e70 has done many 4 mile runs every week but also weekly 20 mile runs in sport mode to get the DPF cleared out, now on 170k and going fine but those weekly runs of 20 mile are crutial.

Owning an EV for 12 months

I think it will take legislation to force batteries or modules to be easily swapped out by manufacturers , at present they are more than happy for them to be seen as a problem after the 8 years and help sell more new cars . :D

Owning an EV for 12 months

Nice informed real world writeup , I just wonder who would take a chance on these cars once the battery warranty expires at 8 years and you are on your own as such .I know many will last longer but as it stands that car will be scrap if the battery does fail. You must as you say have home...
