As you can guess, there is still no sign of the car with lockdown. When eventually they get round to fixing the car, I have asked for them to service the gearbox and front diff as well, saves me doing it when its at the specialists anyway....

Not long after buying the car I had all the tyres replaced at the same time so the treads should be pretty even across them all, unless something is causing uneven wear but I hadn't noticed anything. I've seen some videos on YouTube of how to replace the battery but you need to carefully slice the key open and then desolder the old battery and solder in a new one. The key then needs gluing back together and reprogramming to the car.

Being a novice with my 2004 E53 X5 3.0d auto 6 speed box, how do I find out what filter kit I will need to purchase? I have been looking online at various kits and the filters look different as apparently there are different gearboxes? Is there a simple way I can find out what model of gearbox I have?

Does anyone know the part numbers of the number plate light lens and rubber gasket, and where to buy them from? All I can seem to find on the net is cheap LED replacement lamps fixed to a lens that look like they could catch fire at any point.
