I paid £1900 to have mine done after they broke.. 2 year warranty with that too. I thought about DIY but at that time I didn't have a spare vehicle or time (or the motivation..).
I didn't know it was a weak point until too late.

Like I said, it drives well with no knocking or rattles. Everything works but the ac wasn't cold and I forgot to check the piano roof.. I may go back again

I fancy installing a wireless reversing camera on my E53 and L320. The X5 has the old non wide screen unit but does have TV functionality so I assume a camera will work on that? Yep that's the method. I had to do my driver door twice a few years ago and I still keep the 'tool' in the glove box just in case.
