Re: 4.8i or 3.0d?
[quote="Lee4.8is"] The V8 sounds awesome 8) but if I had my time again I do think my money would be on a the 3.0d, for me when I owned my V8 TVR I didn't mind throwing petrol at it left right and centre as it really rewarded you back in terms of the driving experience. For me the X5 isn't that type ...

Publics Attitude To Your Vehicle?
A friend of mine who owns an X5 has had it keyed on numerous occassions and has had to put up with verbal abuse from the public primarily due to the size of his vehicle. Has anyone else had sh** thrown their way just because the X5/6 isn't the smallest greenest car around? Oh and apparently he has ...

Re: Advice on purchase of 1st X5
[quote="martin33100"] When we bought our E70 3.0d two month ago a 57 plate with 130K, 1 owner, full BMW history and all the right spec was still going for about 14-15K. There is a 2009 ex authorities E70 on the auto trader at the moment for 12.5K but it does have 200k on it and a very very low level ...

Soaking Up Potholes?
Obviously some potholes are massive and your going to feel the jolt even if your in a Rolls Royce but what combo of suspension and wheel/tyre option will do you the most favours with ironing out the usual holes we are plagued with at this time of year?....I'm guessing sticking with 18" to start?

How Much Do You Pay For Your Warranty?
Warranty Direct seem the best of a dodgy bunch, but what people pay seems to vary according to your negotiating skills!
So what level of cover do you have and how much are you paying?
Or are you of the "its not worth the paper its written on" type?

Updating Full Screen Nav Unit
Are there any other easy update swaps to take the old unit out and replace with something more modern looking? EG touch screen, full postcode search, iphone/blutooth plug in etc while still being able to utilise the steering wheel buttons?

Re: Some useful winter tyres info
Am looking to get a 4.4 facelift, but live in the sticks with a 17% hill outside the farm I live on, so would want to invest in a set of wheels/tyres to wear from November-February.

Whats the most effective wheel/tyre size for a winter setup on the 53? Im guessing something comparatively narrow and say a 17"?
