Error code: 48FE intake air temperature sensor, plausibility

The hesitation on the car started getting worse again so I checked the new intake manifold pressure sensor and it seemed a little sooty even though it had only been in for a couple months. I guess this indicates and issue with the EGR valve getting stuck. I cleaned the original part that I had kept ...

Error code: 48FE intake air temperature sensor, plausibility

The code "48EC" does come back when cleared. Is this not referring to the pressure sensor inside the ECU? Not sure how that would show up as it seemed to be triggered when I changed Intake manifold pressure sensor. I did use a non-OEM part so maybe this is impacting in some way. Might try ...

X5 Tyre Compatibility (Incompatibility)

I got mine all mine changed (all run flat, star marked) from Costco. It cost £685 fitted - they had a Goodyear offer on at the time which made the difference. Their website was falsely saying the back ones were incompatible but they confirm they were correct when I went in person. My existing ones w...

X5 Tyre Compatibility (Incompatibility)

Hi All, I am looking to replace all my tyres on the X5 with the same ones that are on now. Looking at the Costco website, it suggests that the tyres I currently have are not compatible! Below is what I have: Front: Goodyear 255/50 R19 107W EAG F1 ASY SUV * XL (Run flat) Rear: Goodyear 285/45 R19 (11...

Error code: 48FE intake air temperature sensor, plausibility

Just an update on my earlier post. I replaced both the Air intake temperature sensor (13628519445) and the Intake manifold pressure sensor (13627804742 - Sensor, charge-air pressure) - fairly easy to do once you know where they are. This seems to have got rid of the hesitation when trying to take of...

Error code: 48FE intake air temperature sensor, plausibility

Thanks. I will have look at the w/e to assess if this is something I can do. If so, I will order the two sensors - they seem to be the same as on your engine as you said.

Error code: 48FE intake air temperature sensor, plausibility

Hi All, Any ideas on this particular error code which I am now consistently getting: "48FE intake air temperature sensor, plausibility" on the 3.0d N57 engine? There are no engine management lights on the dashboard. The car seems to hesitate when starting from standstill and also when tryi...

2010 X5 E70 4X4 Warning Light - xDrive Failure

The garage is charging £80+VAT (£96)/hr. Re: EGR valve, they did tell me over the phone that after a test run that some EGR codes were still showing up but explained these are more electro-mechanical related so it might need a new EGR. I checked just now and the glow plug codes are gone but the foll...

2010 X5 E70 4X4 Warning Light - xDrive Failure

@X5Sport, so I went through exactly what you mentioned above regarding the glow plugs. I had booked the car in for 6 glow plugs and controller for £565 but the garage had problems with one of the plugs snapping so they they only swapped two in the end. They charged me £735 for two glow plugs and con...

2010 X5 E70 4X4 Warning Light - xDrive Failure

@X5Sport, thank you for your insight in the issues with my X5 and apologies for the delayed response. Firstly, the good news is that my parking and ABS lights issue was apparently caused by cable loom damage behind the gearbox under the car. This was found by them after a couple of hours of electric...

2010 X5 E70 4X4 Warning Light - xDrive Failure

Appreciate your response. To be honest, I have been ignoring the glow plug issue for now as it does not show any symptoms that I am able to observe but I now I know to look into this once my transfer box warnings are resolved. I believe I had the glow plug module replaced last year. Do you have any ...

2010 X5 E70 4X4 Warning Light - xDrive Failure

Hello All, I posted this on another forum but was kindly guided to this one as it seems more appropriate for X Series topics. Thought I would try to see if anyone has ideas on the warning light and error codes I am getting on my X5 E70 2010. I used to get the parking brake, ABS failures previously t...
