Re: hi bmw x5 3i 04 owner and dont have a scoobie mines struggling to turn over ,testing batterie ,

A lot of BMW have quite a high battery drain just sitting still. My current X3 wont go more than about 14 days before I have to put on my smart battery charger. First step is check the battery voltage with a meter. If you cant do that just charge your battery, and if you think the battery is on its ...

Re: Glow plugs?

It is a 12v car so they should be 12v glow plugs. Glow plugs do age and become less efficient and fail. My old boat will start in any weather as long as I wait till the glow plugs have done their job- about 25 secs ( 40 yr old Mercedes engine). If your diesel car has trouble starting then there is a...

The only one I can find is this one

Re: Battery jump packs.

I bought one two years ago for my son for his LR Defender and old 3 litre truck, he has used it a lot to help out fellow workers on remote sites around the UK. Saved a fortune on call out charges. It is still going strong. Get one with a minimum of 600 amps rating. Good for more than 3 litre engines...

Re: Add emergency spare wheel.

Thanks for reply.

Left Loose- not a good idea. AS I say there is room if the battery was moved and a different sub floor but thats not a small job.

Add emergency spare wheel.

I need some advice. Anyone know if it is possible to fit an emergency spare wheel in my BMW x3 F25 2016? My car has the can of slime and a little air pump. I have had a good look in the boot area but it looks like the battery would have to be moved. Anyone done this? Or is their another solution? th...

Re: CTec connection

I was a big fan of Cteck chargers but have given up on them to their poor reliability. Other good Smart Chargers are available that offer similar connectors. I have mine permanently bolted to the car and just connect externally when I want to give the battery a boost.

Re: Newtis.info has gone - (possibly a Takedown order?)

Newtis is gone, BMW seen to that. One alternative is to use the ISTA D software for encoding your BMW, which also contains a LOT of info and diagrams for repairs. You can buy ISTA D on ebay and other sites. Other option is use REALOEM.COM for diagrams of your BMW. Not as good as NEWTIS but better th...

Re: 2006 X3 3.0sd Air Con

COuld just be the clutch has failed in the A/C unit. Needs to be checked by a competent A/C specialist. Most garages use a specialist to fix the A/C or just replace suspect parts with new. Th clutch can be replaced dont need a complete new unit. FInd a local specialist and go to them.

Re: Battery life How long to discharge

My son now carries a small battery booster pack with him all the time. It has helped him a number of times with his three vehicles, and also his work colleague. Saved him a fortune!

Re: Engine noise

I should have said is try a tank full of super diesel Shell or BP before going the injector route. Dirty injectors can cause all sort of problems.

Re: Engine noise

On my old Merc diesel injectors they had to be matched as close as possible.

Looks like maybe you need the injectors checked, and maybe re calbrated. A good diesel injector specialist can do that. Just google for a local one.

Re: Battery Flat Advice Please

Does you Cteck charger light up as it should? If the battery has failed the error light should be illuminated. If not can you check it against another good battery? I have known my Cteck charger to fail. Can you check the battery voltage using a meter? A good battery should show 12.7 volts and somet...
