Thank you I done all the research and found a German oil Ravenol and it meets all the specifications they also do transfer case oil I bought 1 extra diff oil £80 delivered am happy with that I will post all the spec’s but my eyes are square at the moment…

Funny you should say that I bought a full subframe everything with out the diff £200 I have had it powder coated it looks lovely in my lock up but as you say big job to do so that why tested the one on vehicle with a hammer it should be good for a few years give me time to completely refurbish the s...

But to get back to X5 it seems to be solid rear subframe looks tatty but tested it with a brick hammer solid am going to put rust eater on it then Lanoguard…

Update gearbox working very well it took about 1 thousand miles but no lurch and as smooth as you would think possible for a 18 year old SUV am very happy

Ah I did notice if you are light on the brakes it is fine ... I knew it driver error again I need lighter boots thankyou so much for putting up with me am only 54 but every day is a school day and I do like the X5 it is easy to get in and out off I can't bend like I used to.....
