Boot release

We have been persisting with opening the boot via the fob, but now that appears to have ceased to function as well. Usually when opening the tailgate from the fob there is a nice loud “boom” noise as it activates, now it makes a quiet click noise and does not unlock. As an aside my wife has just men...

Boot release

Hello people, apologies for my radio silence for many months. Unfortunately I have been pretty ill this year, spending more time in hospital than in my var  Hopefully things are now on the up for me, so I am back with my first question for a while to challenge your knowledge once again. It seem...

iDrive sat nav 2013?

Quick update. Downloaded the map version in the link I posted, which took hours and hours for some reason. Uploaded onto memory stick and have now updated into the car which now shows Map version as 2023-1.

So looks like Mrs Boris is all up to date 👍

iDrive sat nav 2013?

Thanks X5. I have set up a “connected” account (my Z4 doesn’t have iDrive so I’ve never needed one before). I have a new shiny memory stick, but first….. I assume this what I need and will work on our 2013 system? https://www.bmw.co.uk/en/shop/ls/dp/Base_FullMapUpdate_gb Here is the build spec from ...

iDrive sat nav 2013?

Below is a screen shot of the “version” on our 2013 iDrive. Does this show the maps have never been updated since the car was new? Alternatively is it just an indication that the system is from 2013?

Retrofitting Electric Seats

Sounds like that would make the whole idea prohibitively expensive, adding that to the cost of replacement seats and fitting

Retrofitting Electric Seats

So the E53 had a standard wiring harness, was this carried over into the F25? It would be nice to add heated, electric, memory seats to our 2013 M-Sport… if as the OP says they are largely “plug and play”.

EGR cooler recall letter

Actually I’ve just looked back at the notes I made when speaking to the servicing dealers b4 we bought the car (we’ve only had a it a few months). There is a note that it had a used car check at Jardines, Bury St Edmonds in Feb 2019, this included a check of the EGR which I assume at the time did no...

EGR cooler recall letter

Resurrecting this old thread as we have today received the letter saying our car is being recalled for an EGR replacement. No action at this point, they are gathering parts and mobilising the troops in readiness, well get another letter in due course to book an appointment. They claim they will only...

2013 30D Battery type

It did register the new battery no problem, however, it didn’t give me the option to enter the slightly higher capacity. I am gonna do some research on that… unless anyone already knows the answer i.e. is the car smart enough to recognise the capacity increase or does it need to be coded in specific...

2013 30D Battery type

So for future reference, I can confirm the longer 020 battery fits perfectly. I bought the Bosch S5 A15 from Battery Group for £181, pretty good deal I thought. A bit of a pain to fit, particularly trying to get all of the wires and clamps out of the way whilst hoisting something that weighs the sam...

2013 30D Battery type

Had anyone utilised the slightly bigger 020 battery? They are more powerful and only a tiny bit more expensive so it seems to make sense as long as they fit ok. As mentioned the 020 is given on some sites as an option, before I order just wondering if anyone has practical experience of fitting one r...
