Secondary air pump

Yes petrol 3.0i With just lifting the bonnet all looks ok, but had a bit of snow and was snowing hard all day so not looked real good. Deff an air leak with the sound, but unsure if its blowing or sucking excuse the wording. I'm not sure where to look TBH, as I stand in front if the car bonnet open ...

Well I'm just guessing at the minute, but yesterday the engine light came on, Idle was very lumpy on tick over upto about 2k revs, sounds like its miss firing. You can feel the car shaking while at the wheel, seems worse inside. Under the bonnet you can here air pretty loud, it hard to say but sound...

hill decent is great!!

Well unfortunately the snow as almost gone, and the X as just developed a major problem. The engine light as come on giving limited power, sounds like its missing on low revs above 2.5k sounds ok. Next door is plugging it in in the morning, hopefully not going to cost to much.    Sent from the Iphon...

hill decent is great!!

I found the DSC turned off while going up steep hills ok, no chance if its on just cuts to much power and would just stop.
Only tried hill decent going down a little decline, would sooner use a manual and engine braking though.

Lighting upgrades

I fitted LED number plate ones to my old 530d, way to bright for my liking.
Was ok when revering though, lit the hole drive up.
Awaiting the results of the front 55w upgrade as mine are a bit crap as well.

[quote="sramsay"] [quote="Chief1409"] You are right Sanj, they don't come on automatically unless you reverse.... She was really upset but as I said to her, if that's the worst thing that ever happens then we'll take it straight away. It's only metal (of the plastic variety) afte...

Considering the switch from 4.4i to 3.0d

Take the turbo off the diesel and it will lose a shed load of torque, put the turbo on a petrol and gain torque.
But turbo them both and pound for pound the diesel will come out on top again, but bare in mind that the derv as double the psi of the petrol.
