to replace the satnav headunit with a single din unit?

i have the common fault where the radio keeps turning itself off so rather than arse about tracing rusty connectons,
i thought about just putting in a new clarion headunit i had in it.

but looking at the back of the satnav its not the normal ...

needs some tlc as the previous owner lived in afgan or iraq as every panel has some sort of dent,scratch even the roof.
