Re: 2002 4.4 E53 starter motor removal

I still have the GSF starter in it`s box looking in near new condition . There is some inherant fault from new with a lot of these starters which is usually why they were replaced . BMW used all new stock quickly due to this so only remanufactured starters are available but the underlying issue is n...

Re: Front Brake caliper replacement - anyone done one?

The guide pins usually require a 7mm hex / allen key . Most tool kits don`t have that size included . Vacuum method is slow if using a hand pump . Air is usually drawn in through the bleed valve threads when loosened making you think there is air in the system and it means you need to operate the ha...

Re: Front Brake caliper replacement - anyone done one?

A soft plastic scouring pad such as one would use in a kitchen is usefull to gently clean the guide pins just don’t go rough otherwise they can be scratched . The only contamination usually found on them is rubber from their bushes . The guide pins should be fitted dry and clean . I have been known ...

Re: Vehicle Recall

It has taken Bmw a long time to recall and that’s probably only happened because they were forced to recall . Many owners have had wrecked engines because the propshaft smashed the engine casing or sump causing catastrophic oil loss . Some drivers lost control of the vehicle due to oil contaminating...

Re: Front Brake caliper replacement - anyone done one?

More ramblings , As you are replacing the caliper there is probably no need to push the pistons back except where the discs are worn with a lip on the outer edge preventing removal of the pads but maybe you could just remove the guide pins and gently wrestle the caliper off with the pads still in pl...

I know it’s an old thread and I’m sure your feet will be the same size as before . I can recommend the reebok exofit hi or lo . https://www.reebok.co.uk/ex-o-fit-hi/3478.html Mind those original swat hawk boots are good though they might seem like high heels until you get used to them . The swat haw...

Typed a long post and got timed out so here goes again with a shorter post . See yon eezi bleed thing , I never fill that with fluid as per the instructions .thousands of very small air bubbles can get into the system . I fill the vehicle reservoir as much as I dare and attach the empty eezi bleed k...
