I would have said reject the car but i think you might have had it too long now. Think your best bet is to take it to a local if you have one BMW independent garage as it needs somebody that knows what they are doing. Only problem there is you will have to foot the bill but you could ask the seller ...

Can you reset the flaps in diagnostics.
Did it once on a 320d when no hot air from centre vent and it worked.

Just done the mot on a new to me 320d. Couldn't find last years advisories brake pipes covered in grease and a few other bits. Pipes look to be a few years old and no sign of any recent work on the car. The 2 guys that do the tests are old school and don't let anything go that is why i use them plus...

I just changed the bags myself and car went back to normal job done.
J make sure you fit the new 0 rings that come with the bags as seen people getting problems with leaving old ones on.

Your lucky it updates. A new to me E90 with the CIC system fails the update at 58% no matter where i get the update file from. Stuck with 2021 maps so tom-tom it is. Had a Milwaukie one for some time now and it's a godsend for me getting on in years plus semi disabled.
It wasn't cheep but it takes the same battery as my other tools so made sense o get it.
But i still use my torque wrench to finish the job.
