Re: Full BMW Service History?

Most of the ones I've bought cars from have been a shower of s..t.  There have been a couple of exceptions that were very good.

On two occasions had to threaten small claims court before they did warranty work which should have been done pre-sale.

Re: Mercedes GLE or X5

I work for Merc off and on but my own car is an E70 35d. The GLE seems to be slightly less spacious than the X and whilst it's a personal thing, I don't like the Merc interiors.  The 350 engine in the Merc feels a bit lacklustre to me, it doesn't have the grunt of the X. It does however, score over ...

Re: Brown froth in coolant??

Not sure 3 months warranty is correct. The Consumer Rights Act governs the sale by a dealer. You have a right to reject the car in the first 30 days.

Re: Front end squeak.

Radius arms have a large rubber bush on the inner end, as do the wishbones. Squeaking is usually caused by rubber components. How many miles has it done?

Re: E70 Wheel Bearing

If they are manufactured by a recognised maker, then I'd go for the cheaper ones. If not, I'd spend a bit more.

Re: Very unusual tyre wear

[quote="Huxsta"] Mine was the same, could even be my photos! Although my tyres were nearer 3 mm when chord came through. The garage didn't mention an alignment check as all x5's squat on acceleration etc and it's a known trait. What he did say was the 26psi wasn't helping at all. Had them ...

Re: tyres

I went from runflats to non-star standard tyres, I think I fitted Kumho, which are standard fit on VW and some Merc, so reasonable quality. I was very sceptical about the non-star tyres supposedly causing transfer box problems, so went ahead, new fronts and rears together. After a short time I notic...

Re: good BMW dealership in north or west London for Service

A good BMW dealer, not sure I've really found one for service yet !

Interestingly, I had the same experience with Ocean BMW in Plymouth - they tried to overcharge me until I pointed out the online prices which they claimed they were unaware of !

They all need to be wearing robbers masks !
