Memory loss when battery disconnected?

When I get 'round to swapping my steering wheels, obviously I'll need to disconnect the battery - because of the airbag. I've only had the battery disconnected once before, a couple of years ago when I replaced it. Can someone remind me which functions are like to lose their memory when the disconne...

The slip ring is integral with the column switches. There is no difference in them with/without paddle shift. :)

As a world issue its not going to trouble me overly much, though i don't say that in a blasé way. Whats left of my lifetime will be deisel powered transportation. That ^^^ is my stance as well. I've always maintained that I will give-up driving at 80 - if I live that long. 2038 isn't that far away,...

I would suggest "Cruise Control" if you car is fitted with it and it will ''engage'' at such a low speed. BMWs don’t like engaging below 20mph unless you have Traffic Jam Assist which works down to zero. Yep! Mine only works above 20. Pretty soon we’ll only need 3-speed boxes, 1st, 2nd an...

Absolutely! It's just that occasionally I'd like to encourage the 'box to do something it's reluctant to. :driving:

I do use them when overtaking rather than use kick down and also when the X6 engine is colder it tends to not want to use 8th below 60mph. On a dual carriageway in traffic I just nudge it into 8th early and it sits there perfectly happily. In spite of what I've posted above, I've decided to go for ...

So you've found some non OE fog lamps that fit the original apertures? Yes. BMW actually use the same lamps in the F15, 16, 25, 26 and 48. I got mine from my usual source. Strangely, BMW fitted E70 fog lamps to other cars as well, but the E71 units are unique. My supplier doesn't list them.

Getting back on topic...... I didn't really mind the wrap on the mismatched fog/cornering lights, it served a purpose in disguising the mismatch. However, I decided that I'd go for matching pair of proper fog lights, rather than the factory-fitted dual-purpose lamps that came as part of the adaptive...

For the return tomorrow, I'm prepared. :) I've used old technology to check the junction number where I actually want to be off the motorway, and no amount of coercion from the nav. will make me deviate - unless RTTI or travel news on the radio advise me otherwise. ...........And the weirdness is i...

Last Friday, on a journey I hadn't done before, I was routed off the motorway, through the (busy) city centre, and back on the the motorway two junctions down. For the return tomorrow, I'm prepared. :) I've used old technology to check the junction number where I actually want to be off the motorwa...

I think a complaint to BMWUK would be in order. :(
